Step 1 of 3 – Enter Personal Details and Current
Plate Information.
In order to replace a mutilated plate, you have to first identify yourself and the
plate that you want to replace. When your customer and plate information is located,
you can complete the process of ordering a replacement plate.
- Begin searching for the plate to replace by entering your First Name, Last
Name, Date of Birth, CT Drivers License Number/CT ID Card Number, Plate Number,
and Plate Class.

The plate number of the plate you are reporting as mutilated and want to replace.

Plate Class
|
Select the plate class of the plate you are reporting as mutilated and want to replace.

Note: If there is a discrepancy between your legal name and what
is listed on your CT Drivers License/CT ID Card, please contact the DMV.
- Click Continue to search the DMV database for any compliance issues.
Click Cancel to return to the DMV self-service website.
